Job description

This opportunity is third shift, the hours are 6pm-4am. 

The salary range for this opportunity is $75,000-$80,000/year.   

 

Summary: 

The Cup Pack Out Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the second and third-shift cup packaging lines, ensuring that production targets are met with the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role leads a multi-shift team, manages equipment throughput and drives continuous improvement initiatives through 5S and Lean manufacturing principles. 

 

Duties: 

  • Operational Leadership: Direct and coordinate the daily activities of the Cup Pack Out department to meet production schedules and customer demand.
  • Quality & Food Safety: Ensure 100% compliance with FSQ standards, labeling requirements, and SQF/HACCP regulations. Always maintain “audit-ready” status.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as
  • OEE, scrap rates, material waste, and labor variance. Implement strategies to minimize downtime.
  • Safety Management: Foster a "Safety First" culture. Conduct regular safety

audits, lead accident investigations, and ensure all team members are trained on LOTO and machine guarding protocols.

  • Personnel Development: Manage staffing levels, recruitment, and training for Pack Out Leads and Supervisors. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead 5S workplace organization initiatives. Utilize root- cause analysis (e.g., 5-Why) to resolve operational bottlenecks and downtime issues.
  • Inventory & Resource Planning: Coordinate with Scheduling and Warehouse

teams to ensure all packaging materials (cups, lids, labels, Boxes) are staged and available for production runs.

 Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Oversight and accountability for all shifts with 2-4 department Supervisors per shift. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Departmental responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  

 Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment, preferably in Food & Beverage.
  • Demonstrated experience managing automated packaging equipment and conveyor systems.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of LEAN, 6 Sigma
