As one of the world's largest and most recognized graphite electrode manufacturers, we power the industries that keep our country moving. To continue that mission, we're looking for dependable team members to join our Technical Department where safety, teamwork, and precision drive everything we do.
This position is based at our Ozark, AR facility. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for an annual bonus tied to personal objectives overall business performance. The standard schedule is M-F 7AM-3:30PM; however, scheduling may vary based on operational needs.

Position Summary:
With a focus on continuous improvement this position develops and maintains an overall knowledge of the facility's processes and products. This position also evaluates those processes and products to make recommendations to improve quality, productivity, safety, and costs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Identify trends in process variations as part of establishing a continuous improvement monitoring system.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures for new process improvements as well as new operations.
  • Studies, evaluates, and recommends changes in the production process to assure improved quality and increased production while delivering a competitive advantage in personnel, materials, and utilities.
  • Develops and performs experimental process tests with respect to quality, method, cost, production efficiency, etc., and summarizes results with detailed reporting.
  • Monitor processes to ensure that manufacturing specifications and procedures are adhered to.
  • Assists the departmental manager and other personnel with technical advice and specification interpretation to assure quality production. Advise their supervisor and affected departmental manager when manufacturing specifications are not followed.
  • Relieves production supervision and performs related duties as needed.
  • Maintain and update quality programs (ISO, Six Sigma)
COMPETENCIES

    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Very strong analysis/problem solving skills. Six Sigma +Lean Green Belt certified a plus.

    • Must be able to encourage and foster teamwork, including the ability to persuade others to provide necessary information / data for process evaluation.
    Supervisory skills, including the ability to direct, coach, motivate, evaluate, and discipline.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
  • 4-year college degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial or Materials Engineering.
  • Data analyst background with some knowledge of AI application is a plus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any direct reports, however, may be required to fill in for department supervision / management when needed.
