Job description

Job Title: Transaction Processor Associate – II
Position Type: Contract with Possible Conversion
Location: East Hartford, CT 06108 (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $19.64/hr.

Position Overview:
  • The Transaction Processor Associate II reports to a Transaction Processing Supervisor and is responsible for supporting various transaction processing projects.
  • This role involves researching, analyzing, and updating consumer information across multiple systems while ensuring accuracy, productivity, and compliance with procedural guidelines.
  • The associate will also support the Customer Service team by serving as an initial point of contact for consumer inquiries when needed.
  • This position requires strong attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with employees, consumers, and external partners (Access Health, DSS).
  • Accurately process case maintenance transactions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Evaluate and determine the eligibility of medical expenses for applicable medical programs.
  • Screen consumers by entering and validating data within the Eligibility Determination System.
  • Communicate effectively with clients through written and verbal correspondence.
  • Meet or exceed daily productivity and quality standards as outlined in the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP).
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks in alignment with contract guidelines.
  • Accurately document all consumer interactions and case updates.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Support the Customer Service team by handling inbound calls as the first point of contact for program, account, and password reset inquiries.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of procedures, policies, and operating systems.
  • Adhere to attendance, workplace guidelines, and all policies.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and readiness to perform daily responsibilities.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and workloads while maintaining performance standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute (WPM).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify, document, and correct quality issues.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision after training.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to navigate multiple applications and systems simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with PC-based systems or the ability to learn company software quickly.
  • Ability to work at a sustained pace in a structured and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with a passion for helping others.

Education & Experience:
  • College degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in eligibility determination and/or transaction processing is preferred.

  • Overtime may be required, including evenings and occasional weekends.
