About the Role

As a BPS Operations Associate, you be responsible for oversight and review of work performed by Transfer processors, working closely with our clients as move assets/accounts to and from FIS custody. You will examine data files, processes, forms, reports and operational needs of our customers, communicating professionally throughout the life cycle of a transfer.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develops understanding of and defines client products and services through information gathering sessions to determine how FIS systems must be established to meet client needs.

  • Oversight: Perform oversight of operational work performed by processors to ensure accuracy and timeliness in accordance with established service level agreements.

  • Transfer Processing: Initiate, review, and track client account transfers (inbound and outbound) between broker-dealers using ACATS and other industry tools.

  • Mutual Fund Re-registration: Submit required re-registration instructions and coordinate directly with delivering and receiving fund companies to liquidate or re-register mutual fund shares.

  • Reconciliation & Reporting: Review daily settlement reports, verify asset valuations, and monitor delivery/receipt deadlines to minimize manual operational risk.

  • Exception Handling: Investigate and resolve ACATS rejects, mutual fund registration errors, and account discrepancies by communicating with internal teams, contra-firms, and fund providers.

  • May develop new procedures with client to ensure FIS software is used appropriately.

  • Throughout transfer lifecycle, provides expertise to answer questions and guide clients in the use of the system.

  • Conducts train the trainer sessions to instruct and train internal customers (employees) or external customers on changes, new systems or new procedures.

  • Other related duties assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of FIS and industry tools related to movement of assets and cash between depositories, custodians and Fund companies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent human relations, negotiation and documentation skills.

Ability to handle project commensurate with job expectations

Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools

Requires high attention to detail

Positions involving data mapping require strong analytical and technical skills

Ability to translate client requirements to technical specifications and communicate to technical staff

Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally as well as externally

Flexibility, versatility, dependability

A bachelor's in business or a related field or the equivalent experience.
