Job description

The Counter Sales & Warehouse Associate supports both the inside sales counter and warehouse operations to ensure an exceptional customer experience and efficient branch performance. This role serves walk-in and returning customers, provides HVAC product expertise, processes orders accurately, and performs key warehousing duties such as receiving, stocking, and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, and able to manage both sales and warehouse responsibilities safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Counter / Inside Sales

  • Greet and assist customers at the sales counter; take orders and enter them accurately into the system, prioritizing regular or key accounts.
  • Use electronic and printed catalogs to provide product knowledge, pricing, and availability for HVAC products and systems.
  • Increase sales and average order size through cross-selling, up-selling, add-on items, and promoting new or featured HVAC products.
  • Handle customer complaints, returns, and order issues with a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer service needs in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional counter and merchandising area.
  • Keep counter inventory stocked, remove discontinued items, and refresh displays to stimulate impulse purchases.
  • Attend product knowledge and training meetings as required.

Warehouse Operations

  • Accurately pull, fill, pack, and stage orders for delivery or customer pickup.
  • Track and determine the status of any order at any time; follow special order instructions as needed.
  • Receive incoming shipments, log materials into inventory, and maintain stock levels through routine cycle counts and audits.
  • Report quality issues, damages, or inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely; complete daily equipment inspections and maintain required certifications.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized warehouse environment and support overall facility security.
  • Process returns accurately and according to company guidelines.
  • Maintain proficiency in computerized systems, scanners, and technology used for inventory and order processing.
  • Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts.
