The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans has a paid, onsite IT Web Development Internship opportunity available for Fall 2026 (limited term, temporary/seasonal) We are considering any current college students who are majoring in IT; preferably with a Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing.
We would be open to starting the internship prior to the fall semester, if available. Additionally, there may be an opportunity to extend the internship into Spring of 2027, depending on business needs.
The IT Web Development Intern will be working onsite at our office in Brookfield, WI under the direction of the IT and Digital teams, supporting the development, maintenance, and optimization of organizational web platforms. This role will assist with front-end development tasks, content updates, and user experience improvements to ensure web properties are accessible, user-friendly, and aligned with business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of web pages and components.
  • Update and manage website content using content management systems (CMS).
  • Support efforts to improve website usability, accessibility (e.g., WCAG standards), and overall user experience.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement web updates and enhancements.
  • Perform quality assurance testing across browsers and devices to ensure consistent functionality.
  • Assist in analyzing website performance and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in IT and cross-functional meetings related to web and digital initiatives.
  • Create and maintain documentation for website updates and development processes.
  • Support digital projects, including UX/UI improvements and content restructuring initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by IT leadership.

Requirements
Required Education/ Experience:
  • Enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Web Development, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in user experience design, accessibility, and web development.
  • Experience with web content updates, site structure improvements, or UX optimization is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern web development practices.
  • Strong interest in user experience (UX) and accessibility principles.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Analytical mindset with a willingness to evaluate tools, technologies, and processes (including emerging technologies such as AI where applicable).

Travel Requirements:
This position is not expected to travel for work.
Schedule & Work Environment:
The target schedule for this role will be 15-20 hours per week, between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm CST, Tuesday through Thursday . Additional hours may be available on Mondays and Fridays. It is preferred that the person have a set schedule for the duration of the internship, however, we can accommodate a flexible schedule for the right candidate.
Due to the nature of this assignment, this position is expected to work 100% onsite at our corporate headquarters office in Brookfield, WI.
