Job Description

Our Valuation internship program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in valuation and investment banking.  Prairie’s internship program will provide participants with an in-depth look at our advisory services. Interns will work alongside our project teams, learning valuable skills and knowledge that will transfer to many professions. As a Valuations Intern, you will gain exposure to a variety of client industries and engagements, such as business valuation, ESOP advisory and other corporate finance assignments. Interns will work on their day-to-day responsibilities with support and mentorship from a variety of Prairie professionals. Our internship program is designed around our current business needs and the availability of the participant(s).

What you will be doing:

  • Prepares client deliverables including, but not limited to: valuation reports, presentations, and confidential marketing materials (such as pitchbooks)
  • Conducts industry and economic research.
  • Assists with valuation modeling projects that could include, but are not limited to:
    • Discounted cash flow modeling
    • Creating guidelines for comparable company analysis
    • Transaction screening
    • LBO modeling
  • Participates in project discussions and internal meetings.

What do we look for in candidates?

  • Actively working toward completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree program majoring in finance, accounting, economics, or another relevant field of study.
  • Completed coursework in Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance or Economics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage tight timelines in a team environment.


Other: First, this is an in-office position to foster skill development, personal leadership and team collaboration. Second, all candidates should be able to commit to working between 20 – 30 hours per week, in office. Third, all applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now and in the future.

Pay Rate: $21 - $23 an hour
