Position Summary


Warehouse Direct is seeking a motivated and dependable IT Intern to join our Information Technology team. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting a corporate IT environment while developing valuable technical and professional skills. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, enjoys solving problems, and has an interest in pursuing a career in Information Technology.

This position offers the opportunity to transition into a full-time Help Desk Technician role based on performance, business needs, and successful completion of the internship.


Responsibilities


  • Test and verify new and existing computer hardware prior to deployment.
  • Organize, inventory, and maintain IT equipment and supplies.
  • Prepare computers, laptops, and peripherals for employee deployment.
  • Perform secure destruction and disposal of hard drives and other storage devices following company procedures.
  • Assist with computer imaging, software installation, and system updates.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting for desktop computers, printers, monitors, and peripherals.
  • Replace or install basic hardware components such as RAM, hard drives, keyboards, mice, and monitors.
  • Assist with workstation setup and relocation.
  • Help maintain accurate inventory and asset tracking records.
  • Perform cable management and workspace organization.
  • Keep the IT workspace, storage areas, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Assist with miscellaneous IT projects as assigned.
  • Provide excellent customer service while supporting employees throughout the organization.


Qualifications


Required

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with common computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment (up to approximately 50 pounds).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.


Preferred

  • Experience building or repairing computers.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365.
  • Basic networking knowledge.
  • Experience with Active Directory or Windows domain environments.
