Job Summary/Basic Function:
Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative Industrial Process Technology Faculty member for a nine-month, tenure-track position.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Reports to the Division Chair. Industrial Process Technology.
  • Collaborates with faculty and subject matter experts on matters pertaining to the developing and redeveloping of curricula, writing syllabi, selecting textbooks, assessing learning outcomes and student achievement, etc.
  • Develops and instructs courses within the fields of Process Technology using traditional and online instructional modalities.
  • Demonstrates, observes, evaluates, and provides technical skill feedback to students through close supervision of lab work.
  • Maintains industry contacts for advisory committee and student employment
  • Provides academic and professional advising to current and prospective students.
  • Serves on various College, Division, and Program level committees.
  • Summer contract extensions or adjunct teaching opportunities are available as enrollment dictates.
  • Supports the college's student success initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Process Technology or related discipline from a regionally accredited college and a minimum of three (3) years of employment in the chemical technology field.
  • Interest in instructing courses using alternative instructional modalities (e.g., blended, hybrid, online).
  • Demonstrated ability in working with diverse populations including, but not limited to, age, gender, and culture.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills;
  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance candidate's value to the institution.
  • Teaching experience at the community college level desirable.
