  • PART I - General Job / Performance Information
  • Education and Experience
    • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with some college preferred. Prior experience in working with patients preferably as a nurse aide.Some medical knowledge is strongly desired.
  • Environmental / Working Conditions
    • Works in a well lighted and ventilated building. Exposure to bood pathogens is a high risk. Must work with sterilizing and hazardous chemicals ofthe Endoscopy equipment.
  • Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
    • Must communicate appropriately and effectively with patients, visitors, physicians and fellow employees. Must communicate will with ancillarydepartments and sales representatives.
  • Job Description
    • The Endoscopy Technician will be responsible for assisting the RN. in patient care. The Endoscopy Tech is responsibile for transporting outpatients and in patients to procedure rooms and to post procedure recovery. Must assist the RN as directed during the procedure with use ofinstruments for the procedure. Assist the RN preprocedure in preping the patients for the procedure, intra-procedure, and past procedure. Canassist the patients and families with wheelchair at discharge. Must be able to learn the scope sterilization process and stocking of procedurerooms. Must be able to perform in an on-call role after hours and on weekends as needed.

    • Basic Life Support certification required. Nurse Aide Certification helpful.

    • Must be physically fit. Work requires walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, transporting patients, and standing is required most of the duty time.Adequate hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills required. Must be capable of learning rapidly and accept rapid change.
