Job description

Servers play an essential role in delivering the superior guest service that is central to the mission of Eddie Merlot's. Based on extensive knowledge of menu and beverage options, Servers answer guest questions, take orders and process/communicate orders to kitchen and bar. Servers are responsible for presenting food and beverages in accordance with established procedure, presenting guest checks, and processing payment.

In addition, Servers maintain their station in a clean and orderly manner and partner with Bartenders, Bussers, Runners, and other team members to ensure that each and every guest receives outstanding service and hospitality. Responsibilities Complete and pass required training modules - both initial and ongoing. Know your work schedule for the week, arrive at work on time, and meet standards for uniform and professional appearance.

Know and understand menu and beverage options. Follow established guidelines for sequence and methodology of service and providing outstanding hospitality. Communicate with Manager and Hosts to understand reservations, guest flow, large parties, or special event needs.

Check assigned station and reservations, make sure tables are configured appropriately and set in accordance with guidelines, and perform other opening duties to prepare for guest arrival. Greet guests within specified timeframe of being seated. Ensure that guests are comfortable.

Present menus and begin to areada the table and establish rapport. Take beverage orders, garnish and pick up drinks, and deliver beverages in accordance with procedure. Give a menu tour, guide guest though the ordering process, and offer the meat tray presentation.

Answer menu questions and follow menu merchandising procedures by listening, explaining specials, suggesting items, and up-selling. Follow standard procedures for accurately taking and inputting orders in accordance with standard procedures for timing of courses. Pick up orders, completing plate presentation if needed.

Serve orders, ensuring accuracy and addressing any concerns or requests. Check back with guests within the designated time frame to ensure satisfaction. Perform pre-bussing and table maintenance duties throughout the meal.

Offer desserts and additional beverages as needed. Audit and present check; accurately complete payment and tip-reporting. As they leave, thank Guests for dining with us and invite them to return.

Bus, set, and re-set tables as needed. Perform side duties, closing duties, and other related duties as assigned by Manager(s). Assist with Prime Society service and encourage membership.

Follow Eddie Merlot's policies, procedures, standards, and performance expectations, as well as applicable laws and regulations related to liquor, food handling, sanitation, and safety at all times. Communicate information regarding guest requests or complaints and ideas for improvement to Managers. May be scheduled to work meetings, banquets, and special events.

Maintain a good team-work environment by willingly assisting other team members with their station duties and sidework when there is a need and/or when available.
