Job description

US Farathane is seeking a Corporate Quality Manager at our Corporate Tech Center in Auburn Hills, MI. The Corporate Quality Manager is responsible for leading the successful execution of our Quality Improvement Strategy. By working one-on-one with their assigned plant quality managers to understand our strategy and execute the defined action plan.
This position sits fully onsite in Auburn Hills, MI and requires travel to our manufacturing sites in Michigan, Texas, Missouri, and Tennessee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for assisting problem solving of assigned programs for quality related issues utilizing l effective problem-solving tools per CQI 20
  • Serves as QMS and CSR Subject Matter Expert for the manufacturing plants
  • Interface with program management, launch management, engineering and plant quality engineers assigned to the program to ensure alignment and compliance to the APQP process.
  • Participate in Launch Readiness Reviews (LLR and ensure PPAP and quality related APQP concerns are raised and escalated for assigned programs). Support the team to resolve yellow program status issues and raise red program status to Manager of the Operational Quality.
  • Audit safe launch process/work instructions with plant Quality Team assigned to the program and ensure an action plan is followed up for the closure open items.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers resulting in excellent customer satisfaction
  • Must be an expert to navigate on the customer portals to understand the CSR and scorecards.
  • Guide and review Quality Managers the Plant MOR’s. Ensure MOR quality content is correct and key points identified to share for the meetings.
  • Expert in Customer Audits (BIQS, MSA, PPA, VDA, etc.)
  • Support the Plants assigned with customer visits, customer audits when necessary.
  • Support the Plant as acting Quality Manager when necessary.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions. Reopen root cause analysis if defect recurs.
  • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • Five years of experience in quality with an automotive background preferred
  • Experience and competency in advanced quality planning including all AIAG core tools (APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC and PPAP)
  • Experience and competency in facilitating DFMEA, PFMEA and Control Plan teams
  • 50% travel to USF manufacturing sites in the US/Mexico.
