Job description

SpaceXAI's mission is to create AI systems that can accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. Our team is small, highly motivated, and focused on engineering excellence. This organization is for individuals who appreciate challenging themselves and thrive on curiosity. We operate with a flat organizational structure. All employees are expected to be hands-on and to contribute directly to the company's mission. Leadership is given to those who show initiative and consistently deliver excellence. Work ethic and strong prioritization skills are important. All employees are expected to have strong communication skills. They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are hiring skilled Journeyman and/or Master Electricians to join SpaceXAI's internal construction team supporting the rapid build-out of our data centers. This is a traveling role - you will mobilize with project teams to active construction sites, install and commission mission-critical electrical systems, and move with the work as new facilities come online.

You will work on high-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution, backup power systems, grounding, lighting, and process power in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where uptime and safety are paramount. This hands-on position is ideal for experienced electricians who thrive in industrial or data-center settings, enjoy project-based travel, and want to contribute directly to groundbreaking AI infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Travel with internal construction and electrical teams to project sites to install, terminate, and test electrical systems including underground duct banks, conduits, cable pulling, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, busways, and grounding
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems across multiple active sites
  • Support commissioning activities such as point-to-point checks, functional testing, megger testing, and system energization
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and specifications
  • Ensure full compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and SpaceXAI safety & quality standards (including LOTO and arc flash protocols)
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and operations teams to deliver projects on time with zero incidents
  • Participate in constructability reviews and provide field feedback to improve designs
  • Maintain accurate documentation, as-builts, and test records
  • Mobilize quickly between project locations as construction phases and priorities shift

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems at 480V or above (medium/high voltage experience preferred)
  • Prior experience with data center or hyperscale power infrastructure (redundant UPS, generators, busway systems, etc.)
  • Prior experience work on large-scale, multi-site construction projects that required frequent travel
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in industrial environments with PPE
  • Current OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 training with strong safety mindset
  • Proficiency with test equipment (multimeters, meggers, power quality analyzers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of PLC/controls, SCADA, or variable frequency drives
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours during critical builds or commissioning (including nights, weekends, and extended shifts)
