Business Development Representative – Industrial Equipment Sales

  • Position Summary


The Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities, supporting the outside sales engineering team, and helping customers identify equipment solutions that improve reliability and reduce operating costs.


This role combines prospecting, inside sales, customer support, and technical coordination, making it an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building a long-term career in industrial equipment sales.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Generate new business through outbound phone calls, email campaigns, and customer prospecting
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding air compressors, pumps, vacuum systems, blowers, and related equipment
  • Prepare equipment quotations, proposals, and pricing under the direction of the sales team
  • Support Outside Sales Engineers by gathering technical information, pricing, and product specifications
  • Interpret engineering specifications and coordinate with manufacturers when technical assistance is required
  • Maintain accurate customer information, opportunities, quotations, forecasts, and sales activities within the company’s CRM system
  • Develop a strong understanding of our products, services, and industrial applications


Qualifications Required


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn industrial equipment and engineered systems
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Self-motivated with a goal-oriented mindset
  • Professional attitude and commitment to exceptional customer service


Preferred


Internship or prior business development, customer service, or sales experience

Leadership experience through school, athletics, military, or organizations

Mechanical or engineering-related coursework or experience is a plus
