Process Operator
Location: Crosby, Texas – ALTIVIA Oxide Chemicals
Job Summary
The Process Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of toll manufacturing processes and related support systems at the ALTIVIA Oxide Chemicals facility in Crosby, Texas. This position ensures production activities are performed safely and in compliance with company procedures and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The Process Operator supports production operations, quality control activities, material handling, and process monitoring while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
Job Responsibilities
- Follow and adhere to all standard operating procedures and established work instructions.
- Troubleshoot process upsets, operating issues, and equipment problems, including minor repairs and equipment isolation for maintenance activities.
- Complete all required safety, environmental, production, maintenance, and shipping documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain all required safety training certifications and participate in scheduled training meetings and safety programs.
- Safely load, unload, and transfer raw materials and finished products while following proper handling procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Read and understand batch sheets and blend recipes and verify raw material and packaging availability before production activities.
- Monitor production processes using Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems, log sheets, and logbooks.
- Enter and maintain accurate operating data in digital and manual records.
- Collect process samples, perform basic quality control testing, and communicate laboratory results as required.
- Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, maintenance personnel, and other facility employees regarding process conditions and operational issues.
- Perform routine housekeeping activities to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence efforts.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements amp; Qualifications
- Process Technology degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant manufacturing, chemical plant, or process operations experience preferred.
- Batch processing or batch production experience preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Proficiency with computer systems and process control technologies used to monitor and operate production processes.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to accurately calculate process and production data.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds between floor and waist height.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and climb ladders throughout the facility as required.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
- Willingness to participate as a member of the facility emergency response team.
