Job description

The Process Engineer will perform routine, entry to advanced level engineering tasks under the direct supervision of the shop manager with the goal of developing more advanced applied engineering and managerial skills. The Process Engineer will be involved in the development of new equipment and processes, when necessary.

Key Result Accountabilities

  • Provide general and specialized engineering support to assigned operations
  • Oversee and assess existing processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies
  • Interpret data to identify trends and recommend process and design improvements
  • Identify potential areas of product and process improvement and assist in developing effective solutions
  • Optimize productivity by designing, implementing, and testing new procedures and process improvements
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational performance, quality, and efficiency
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and monitor progress
  • Verify, test, and validate assigned metrics and engineering projects
  • Enter and maintain accurate data in quality and operational tracking systems
  • Assemble reports to document process status, test results, and implemented changes
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to management as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address process, product, and operational challenges
  • Identify and report issues with processes or products to management and technical teams as appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and environmental standards and regulations
  • Assist in facilitating surveys and audits to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards
  • Provide technical guidance and training to engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel
  • Support the development of new methods to enhance product quality, efficiency, and overall process effectiveness
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience preferred
  • Experience in mechanical and electronic systems, including tuning and troubleshooting
  • Ability to interpret and create technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience in PLC’s, Siemens preferred
  • Experience using an ERP database, a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of ISO-9000
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software program
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces as needed
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and stand for up to 8 hours a day
  • May be exposed to extreme heat and loud noise
