The Supply Chain Intern supports the procurement, sourcing, and expediting activities for critical infrastructure projects. Under the guidance of experienced supply chain professionals, the intern will gain hands-on experience in purchasing operations, vendor management, material coordination, and supply chain processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to develop practical skills in strategic sourcing, procurement, and supply chain management within a dynamic, project-driven environment. You will work with buyers, expeditors, sourcing specialists, and project teams to support the full lifecycle of material procurement.


  • Assist with Purchase Order Management: Support the creation and processing of purchase orders based on field requisitions and project schedules; learn to prioritize orders and manage the full purchasing cycle.
  • Supplier Communication & Follow-up: Assist with routine supplier follow-up on material availability, fabrication progress, and delivery timelines; support the coordination of order status updates with internal teams.
  • Order Status Tracking: Maintain accurate records of purchase order status and expected delivery dates in ERP and procurement systems; learn to identify and flag at-risk materials early.
  • Data Entry & System Management: Update system data to reflect accurate costs, lead times, and inventory parameters; assist with data accuracy and organization in sourcing and procurement tools.
  • Bid Package Support: Help prepare material bid packages and vendor prequalification lists; organize vendor quotes and proposal documents.
  • Documentation & Research: Track supplier drawings, quality documents, and required submittals; assist with research on supplier performance and capabilities.
  • Project Support: Maintain project tracking pages and support coordination of material delivery updates with project teams and logistics partners.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with operations, engineering, project teams, and supply chain partners to anticipate needs and support procurement activities.
  • Learning & Professional Development: Take initiative to learn procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supply chain best practices; participate in training opportunities and team meetings.
  • Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Currently enrolled junior or senior student pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field; or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in a related field.

  • No prior professional experience required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior internship, co-op, or relevant coursework in supply chain, procurement, or operations is preferred. Familiarity with Transmission & Distribution (T&D), utility, or EPC projects is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a professional environment.
  • Basic understanding of purchase orders, supplier management, and material delivery.
  • Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical specifications, and project schedules is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP, procurement, or project management systems (such as Coupa, SAP, Oracle, JDE, or Procore) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
