Manager, Legal Operations Manager - Network Transactions

The Capital One Legal Department is seeking an experienced and collaborative process manager to join our growing Global Payment Network Legal team. It is an opportunity to join an outstanding team at a Fortune 100 Company that is consistently voted one of the best places to work in the U.S.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing team operations and supporting a team of attorneys managing Global Payment Network transactions. This position will have responsibility for:

  • Supporting attorneys in the management of complex transactions, including providing closing support and comment tracking

  • Managing multiple processes in support of the transaction team's operations and compliance with procedures

  • Developing and maintaining formal process documentation including procedures and process flow diagrams

  • Tracking and resolving process breakdowns; proactively identify opportunities to streamline and accelerate deals

  • Leading and owning oversight of process improvement work and collaborating with teammates on larger initiatives

  • Collecting data and information on transactions and the team's compliance with processes and procedures and reporting on that data and information to provide transparency to senior leadership and executives

  • Prepare standardized playbooks for commonly negotiated provisions, including developing "fall back" language

  • Assist with routine amendments and NDA negotiations

  • Identify business-oriented contract redlines such as obligations or covenants to ensure business responses are consistent and reflect operational processes

  • Identify issues that require Legal SME engagement and gather Legal SME input

  • Create and maintain library of Legal SME feedback where such feedback is relevant across deals to leverage existing advice and ensure advice is consistent

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in Process management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience creating and executing contracting and negotiation strategies and processes

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Experience leveraging Google Workspace and its embedded smart features (including Gemini and Workspace Studio) to optimize workflows, create team assets, and enhance overall operational efficiency

  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and establish structure within evolving operational environments

  • 1+ years of experience in a law firm OR legal department

  • 1+ years of experience in financial services industry

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $134,400 - $153,300 for Manager, Process Management


New York, NY: $146,600 - $167,300 for Manager, Process Management


Richmond, VA: $122,100 - $139,400 for Manager, Process Management


Riverwoods, IL: $122,100 - $139,400 for Manager, Process Management








Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
