Position Summary

The Principal Process Integration & Yield Engineering Services Engineer is a senior technical expert who partners directly with customers to solve complex yield, defect, and process integration challenges in semiconductor manufacturing. This role applies deep domain expertise, advanced yield analysis, and strong customer engagement skills to deliver measurable yield improvement, accelerate issue resolution, and strengthen Applied Materials' position as a trusted manufacturing and yield partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a principal technical authority for customerfacing yield engineering and process integration engagements

  • Lead complex yield investigations using inline, electrical, test, FA, and reliability data to identify yield limiters and excursions

  • Drive endtoend root cause analysis, corrective action definition, and prevention strategies

  • Guide customers in improving process robustness, manufacturability, and control strategies

  • Collaborate closely with Applied product, process, and service engineering teams to resolve escalated, highimpact issues

  • Influence customer technical direction through datadriven insights and expert recommendations

  • Accountable for execution and delivery of more complex consulting services and commitments working with sales, PSEs, KATs and FSO.

  • Responsible for project financial results and identifying pull-through revenue, in collaboration with other business stakeholder

  • This position originates, develops and executes the most complex technical projects and influences future technology and product strategy. Focus, knowledge, judgment and intuition is required for those technical challenges that may not have an identified solution by customer, competitors or within industry. Works on critical complex issues that impact longer term product development and business success measured by two or more of the following: incremental revenue growth, market share increases, key customer penetrations, time to market improvement and commercial value of the work.

  • Within safety guidelines originate, design, perform, collect data, analyze and compile reports on unusually complex engineering experiments and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.

  • Develop innovative solutions as part of proven track record of significant technology contributions. Widely recognized internally (across Business Units) as one of the company's top experts in their field.

  • Leads through contribution to the development of new principles and concepts. As a technical role model to Applied's technical and engineering community, this position acts as a mentor to guide less experienced engineers. Typically is involved in judging the approach and verifying the validity of technical strategies

  • Deep subject matter expert who consults with management and customers on exceptionally complex technical issues. Viewed as a company resource for specific technology and interacts with the engineering community internally and externally, based on business need.

  • Represents Applied on industry boards/consortia, seen as a thought leader in area of expertise, regarded by customers and external leaders as an expert and thought leader in their field.

Functional Knowledge

  • Demonstrates broad and comprehensive expertise in leading-edge theories, techniques and/or technologies within own field

  • Deep expertise in semiconductor process integration and device manufacturing

  • Advanced capability in yield analysis, defect reduction, and excursion management

  • Strong command of statistical techniques including SPC, DOE, regression, and multivariate analysis

  • Proficiency with yield analysis and data mining tools (e.g., JMP, Python, SQL, Spotfire, or equivalent)

  • Broad understanding of inline metrology, electrical test data, FA techniques, and process control

  • Demonstrated success leading complex yield improvement initiatives in customerfacing or highvolume manufacturing environments, ideally 15+ years in process integration or Yield.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
