Position Overview:

The Mortgage Accounting & Finance Intern will support the finance team in managing accounting processes related to mortgage operations. This role offers hands-on exposure to financial reporting, loan accounting, and regulatory compliance within the mortgage industry. The intern will assist with data analysis, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist with daily accounting tasks, including purchase invoices, journal entries and general ledger maintenance
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Support ad-hoc projects as needed
  • Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP knowledge preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas)
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
