Associate Director, Investment Management Data - SLC Management

What is in it for you:

Reporting to the Director, Investments Data Product, this role will be part of a dedicated Agile team and will be accountable for delivering investment data products through a highly dynamic and fast-paced solution development process.

The Associate Director will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and development teams to transform business concepts and data requirements into scalable solutions. This role is accountable for balancing business priorities, user needs, data quality requirements, governance objectives, and technology considerations while ensuring successful business outcomes.

The Associate Director will combine product ownership responsibilities with hands-on data analysis and domain expertise to define, develop, and continuously improve investment data products used across the organization.

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to the strategy, roadmap, and ongoing evolution of investment data products by translating business priorities into scalable solutions that improve decision-making, analytics, operational efficiency, and information management.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand business processes, challenges, and data requirements, translating needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, data mappings, process documentation, and solution designs.
  • Perform data analysis, profiling, reconciliation, validation, and root-cause investigations across investment and accounting data domains, while collaborating with engineers and architects to design scalable data models, transformation rules, and reusable data products.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring delivery teams have clear requirements, priorities, and expected outcomes, while actively supporting Agile ceremonies, testing, user acceptance activities, and release readiness.
  • Support enterprise data governance, quality, and control initiatives by establishing and monitoring data standards, testing practices, lineage, metadata, and business glossary requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders by communicating product priorities, roadmaps, progress, risks, and outcomes, while supporting change management and user adoption activities.
  • Contribute to the definition, tracking, and achievement of product and initiative objectives and key results (OKRs), measuring success through adoption, data quality, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.


What You Need to Succeed

  • 6+ years of experience in Asset Management, Capital Markets, Investment Operations, Investment Technology, or a related field, with a strong understanding of investment products, portfolios, transactions, performance, benchmarks, market data, reference data, and investment lifecycle processes.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with business stakeholders in data-intensive environments, including business analysis, requirements gathering, process improvement, data profiling, data mapping, testing, and solution delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise data management concepts, including data governance, data quality, data modeling, architecture, system integration, investment data platforms, and complex datasets, supported by advanced SQL and analytical skills.
  • Experience working as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role within Agile delivery environments, with responsibility for backlog management, prioritization, user story development, and iterative solution delivery.
  • Proven ability to independently solve complex business and technology challenges, manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, influence stakeholders, and translate business needs into actionable solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience with investment systems and enterprise data platforms is considered an asset.
