What is a process implementation manager?

Process Implementation Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the introduction and integration of new processes or improvements within an organization. They analyze existing workflows, identify areas for enhancement, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth implementation. Their role often involves project management, change management, and ongoing monitoring to ensure that new processes deliver the expected results. By streamlining operations and fostering efficiency, they help organizations achieve their strategic goals.

What are some common challenges faced by process implementation managers when introducing new processes, and how can they be effectively addressed?

Process Implementation Managers often encounter resistance to change from team members who are accustomed to existing workflows. Overcoming this challenge requires clear communication about the benefits of the new processes, involving stakeholders early in the planning phase, and providing thorough training. Additionally, unexpected technical or operational obstacles may arise, so flexibility and problem-solving skills are crucial. Regular feedback sessions and monitoring progress help ensure that any issues are promptly addressed, leading to smoother adoption and long-term success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a process implementation manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Process Implementation Manager, you need expertise in process analysis, project management, and continuous improvement methodologies, often supported by a bachelor's degree in business or engineering. Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, workflow automation tools, and project management software like MS Project or Asana is typically required. Strong communication, leadership, and change management skills help drive adoption and collaboration across teams. These skills ensure successful implementation of process improvements that enhance efficiency and achieve organizational goals.

Job description

About the Role
The Processor Implementation Manager is an individual contributor role within ChimeCore's Processor Operations function, focused on ensuring the reliable implementation, validation, and operational readiness of payment processors, funds flows, and platform changes across our internal processing system. This role is built for someone who leads with data - using advanced SQL and analytics to drive decisions, resolve ambiguity, and surface system behavior that others miss. You'll partner closely internally with Engineering, Accounting, Finance, and Bank Partnerships and externally with our bank partners, serving as the analytical backbone of complex payment investigations and implementations.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $130,000.00 and up to $180,000.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role you can expect to
  • Support complex processor implementations, migrations, and platform changes, ensuring operational readiness and clean handoff to steady-state owners - with data validation at every stage.
  • Write sophisticated SQL queries to investigate transaction anomalies, support reconciliation research, and surface root causes across large, multi-rail datasets in Snowflake.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ChimeCore payment flows, transaction lifecycles, and data models - and translate that expertise into clear, queryable logic others can rely on.
  • Collaborate with bank partners and engineering on funds flow, reporting, and transaction investigations - bringing structured analysis and proposed resolutions, not just problem statements.
  • Support Accounting, Audit, Risk, and Finance by interpreting platform behavior and transaction data to aid investigations and reporting
  • Participate in incident response and escalations by driving investigation, proposing hypotheses, and supporting remediation, with accountability shared across owning teams.
  • Define expected versus anomalous processor behavior and contribute to the design of monitors and alerts in partnership with Engineering and Processor Operations.
  • Perform advanced data analysis and SQL-based investigations to support reconciliation research root-cause analysis and be able to articulate the finding to a broader audience.
  • Support Accounting, Audit, Risk, and Finance with platform behavior interpretation and transaction-level data - translating SQL output into business-ready findings.
  • Act as a trusted analytical advisor to Implementation and Reconciliation Managers, providing implementation context grounded in data.
To thrive in this role, you have
  • 6+ years in bank and/or payment operations with a broad understanding of operations; including accounting, funds flow, settlement, processing, etc
  • Expert-level SQL skills - you write complex, optimized queries from scratch and are comfortable independently investigating large transactional datasets. Experience in Snowflake strongly preferred.
  • Strong reconciliation knowledge and background
  • An understanding of the end-to-end payments ecosystem, including payment methods, card networks, issuer processing, and the regulatory environment
  • An understanding of ACH originations, returns, settlements and everything in between, AAP certification is a huge plus
  • Familiarity with network operations including Visa, Mastercard, PLUS, and Star, as well as with network vendors that facilitate AFT/OCT payments and other forms of card-based money movement
  • Experience working cross functionally with Product, Accounting, Compliance, Legal, Risk & Engineering to identify, evaluate and size opportunities and prioritize work
  • Experience driving continuous improvement projects, where you've applied deep knowledge to uncover and execute both short term and long term optimizations
  • A member obsessed mindset, eager to learn and improve the user experience
  • A curious and creative problem solving ability - can facilitate resolution of issues in a timely manner by working cross-functionally with product and engineering teams
  • Excellent business acumen, communication skills and a self-starting attitude
