Job description

We are currently seeking a Process Engineering Intern for our Waterbury, CT manufacturing facility. This role will work alongside the Operations Manager and experienced engineers and mentors, contributing to real-world projects that support our operations and product development. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical engineering experience while making meaningful contributions to the business. This role is designed for students who are available to work fulltime during the summer and parttime during the academic year, based on school schedule and business needs.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner closely with the Operations Manager to support process development, documentation, and validation of components and manufacturing processes
  • Assist with CNC-related manufacturing activities, including observing machine setups, supporting process improvements, and helping document standard work and tooling
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing, quality, and test data to support data-driven decisions
  • Support the design, build, documentation, and validation of basic electro-mechanical fixtures, tooling, or test stations
  • Participate in testing activities, analyze results, and help prepare reports summarizing findings, root causes, and recommendations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency within manufacturing operations
     

What We Are Looking For:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (4-year degree program)
  • Sophomorelevel standing or higher
  • Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email for effective communication and documentation
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day) as required

Additional Characteristics:   

  • Moderate noise level in the manufacturing environment
  • May be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals and oils
