Position Summary
As a leader at Huber Specialty Hydrates, it is expected that this person will act in accordance with the Huber Principles, lead and support EHS&S systems, and ensure we are engaging, developing, and recognizing our employees. This person will be a part of the Bauxite Leadership Team. It is expected that this person set expectations, lead by example, direct timely action to correct noncompliance, communicate with purpose and consistency and deliver measurable results and excellence. It is also expected that this person will maintain a safe work place, support their fellow staff members, work as an active contributing member of our team, and align with the team, plant, and business purpose and goals to provide value for employees, customers, and communities.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with Operations Manager to schedule downtime and equipment availability for completion of critical maintenance/reliability and capital improvements without negatively impacting customer needs.
  • Interpret technical results and make technical recommendations to the Plant Manager, operations, and to the HAM teams.
  • Work with NA Engineering Manager to help oversee capital budget and expenditures/CAR system - to assure they are timely, accurate, and fulfill needs of facility. Ensure capital improvements are completed in a manner that meets capital budget, project objectives, and project schedules and provide the functionality needed for proper operation and maintenance. Updates capital spending forecasts and project schedules.
  • Prioritize planned and unplanned expenditures to stay within the boundaries of the financial plan/budget.
  • Interface with engineering resources to coordinate Process and Project Engineering activities as it relates to maintenance and capital projects and process improvements.
  • Establish reliability targets and goals for equipment and processes.
  • Develop, coach, and supervise Maintenance Team (Controls Engineer, Planner, etc) while coaching all engineers on the site including Process and Project Engineers.
  • Identify, develop, and support reliability programs and strategies.
  • Assist with operations in troubleshooting equipment and process problems as requested by operations and logistics.
  • Facilitate new product development (NPD) processes by supporting plant trials and communication of plant capabilities and performance with the technology, engineering, and logistics groups.
  • Enforce progressive disciplinary action for employees in violation of company policies as defined by the Employee Handbook.
  • Understand, comply, and enforce company policies and Federal and State regulations as dictated by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and Affirmative Action Compliance Program (AACP).
  • Support EHS&S Manager to ensure all direct personnel complete required trainings on time.
  • Actively participate and support Bauxite Operational Excellence opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 8-15 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, engineering, maintenance, or reliability leadership.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading maintenance and reliability programs.
  • Experience managing capital projects from concept through implementation.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to read, interpret, and write safety regulations, environmental and industrial hygiene guidelines, engineering standards, and Huber policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to use Internet, manufacturing, spreadsheet, and word processing software along with the knowledge of Oracle (or similar software).
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, management and vendors.

Preferred
  • Experience in mining, minerals processing, chemical manufacturing, or heavy industrial operations.
  • Reliability engineering experience and/or CMRP certification
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in a union environment.

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.
U.S. Market-Based Base Salary Range
Technical Manager
[$106,900.00 - $138,800.00]
In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
