Position Summary

This role will have a broad range of technical responsibilities that include project management, production support, processimprovement,and plant infrastructure. This person willassistin plant operations contributing towards improving manufacturing efficiencies byutilizingcontinuous improvement techniques.Theprocess engineeris responsible forthe development and implementation of design systems andtools andmanages Lean Manufacturing activities at the plant.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible overseeing successful planning and execution of small and large capital projects for plant operations. Responsibilitiesincludedefining project scope, developing solutions, and partnering with vendors, consultants, and contractors to develop and install projects. Drive control schedule toaccomplishprojects on time and within cost estimate

  • Composite manufacturing experience means hands‑on work building, shaping, or repairing parts made from advanced combined materials like carbon fiber, fiberglass, or Kevlar.

  • Lead team in the identification of production and process changes, partner with operations leadership to develop and implement engineered improvements, resulting in greater operational efficiencies

  • Manage a portfolio of lean projects directed at reducing waste and improving quality to provide greater valve; implements such tools as:6S, KPI, and Kaizen.

  • Train and lead cross-functional continuous improvement teams; focusing on measurable quality,serviceand cost improvements; mentor green belts.

  • Trains, coaches and motivates personnel in the understanding and adoption of new principles and techniques

  • Providetechnical guidance, training, and development for ProcessEngineer interns and Production teams; assistingin setting annual operational targets and help drive improvements to achieve those targets

  • Performs other relateddutiesassigned by management.

  • Adheres to the safety rules of JUPITER BACH


Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering(Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical)

  • 4+ years’ Engineering experience (Project, Process, or Plant)

  • 2+ years’ experience incomposite manufacturing(carbon fiber,fiberglassor Kevlar)

  • Must havepreviousexperience managing multiple large projects simultaneously

  • Previousexperience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time


Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher inBusiness/Operations or Supply Chainor related discipline

  • 10+ years Engineering experience

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification and strong LEAN Manufacturingexpertise: 5-10 years with black belt

  • Previousleadership or supervisory experience

  • Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories,concepts, and practices inthe qualityspecialization.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • High levelof accuracy and attention to detail


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up-to 10 pounds for 3+ hours per shift

  • Must be able to lift up-to 35pounds for 3+ hours per shift

  • Must be able to sit for 8+ hours per shift

  • Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, stand, stoop, walk, reach above shoulders, and climb/work off ladder for 3+ hours per shift

  • Must be able to work in a hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment for 3+ hours per shift

  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, pushing, pulling, perform fine manipulation for 3+ hours per shift

  • Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, and express ideas by spoken and written word
