Work schedule: 12-hour shift; 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
At our Graceville Correctional Facility, our employees strive to improve the lives of those in our care through robust educational programming, clinical care and other resources. One of the great aspects of working with an incarcerated population is the satisfaction of providing education and healthcare to the underserved as many of our patients have gone without health care prior to being incarcerated.
An exciting environment for a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse to work in a mixture of acute and chronic care patient care settings. This is a unique opportunity to see and do every aspect of patient care from true lifesaving medical emergencies that come through our onsite ER suite to chronic disease management and more.
Primary duties include:
  • Under direction of health services administrator, supervising nurse and professional service providers and in accordance with approved treatment protocol, assess condition of and prescribe treatment for detainees reporting to sick call.
  • Assist with provider line; prepare examining room and equipment.
  • Operate pill call, administer medication and document as required by applicable policies and procedures. To include push and or wheel pill cart on facility campus.
  • Control medication, syringes and other medical supplies or equipment as required
  • Perform emergency procedures as needed and call physician for treatment orders.
  • Timely and accurate documentation
  • Assessment and treatment of our patients per protocol.
  • Administer injections and plant PPDs

Education and experience requirements: Ahigh school diploma or equivalent and six months of related experience. A graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program. Must possess current, valid vocational nursing license for the state of Florida or a compact state and current CPR certification
