THIS POSITION WILL BE ONSITE AT SAMTEC'S HEADQUARTERS IN NEW ALBANY, IN

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE:  The Global Process Engineering Manager leads a global team responsible for the design, standardization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for Mainstream products. This role is accountable for maintaining global process alignment across all sites, driving measurable cost savings, mentoring engineering talent globally, and providing strategic manufacturing guidance to support new customer opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Establish, maintain, and enforce standardized process documentation and best practices across all global manufacturing sites.
  2. Serve as the central authority for global process consistency, ensuring all sites adhere to approved process standards and methodologies.
  3. Coordinate with site Process Engineering teams to identify and close process gaps between locations.
  4. Work with Product Engineering Managers, Automation Engineering Managers, Tooling Engineering, and Production Managers to design products and processes for global manufacturability.
  5. Lead the identification, prioritization, and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities across the global process engineering portfolio.
  6. Manage improvement projects from concept through full implementation, ensuring measurable outcomes are documented and sustained.
  7. Drive a minimum cost savings target of $1M per year per Global Process Engineer through structured improvement initiatives.
  8. Implement and maintain robust tracking systems to capture real, verified cost savings data post-implementation, ensuring traceability from project identification through realized benefit.
  9. Utilize engineering tools including Six Sigma, DMAIC, DOE, Root Cause Analysis, Gage R&R, and other analytical methodologies to evaluate process capability and resolve recurring issues.
  10. Manage and develop a global team of Process Engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and innovation.
  11. Provide direct guidance, coaching, and mentoring to Global Process Engineers at all career levels, supporting their technical and professional development.
  12. Help resolve escalated technical issues and remove organizational barriers that impede team performance.
  13. Conduct regular performance reviews and development planning for all direct reports globally.
  14. Provide manufacturing process expertise and strategic guidance to support new customer opportunity evaluations, ensuring proposed processes are technically feasible and economically viable.
  15. Partner with Sales, Product Engineering, and Operations leadership to assess manufacturability requirements and process investment needs for new programs.
  16. Support the development of process roadmaps aligned with the company's long-term manufacturing strategy.
  17. Manage the portfolio of all global process engineering projects, including delegation, prioritization, and progress reporting to senior leadership.
  18. Maintain excellent communication with upper management, providing regular updates on project status, cost savings performance, and team metrics.
  19. Must be customer-focused and champion Sudden Service principles across the team.
  20. Proficient in Microsoft Office; skilled in project management tools and reporting.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  1. 5+ years of experience in Process Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
  2. 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams, specifically in Process Engineering.
  3. Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable cost savings through continuous improvement programs.
  4. Experience with real savings tracking and reporting methodologies (post-implementation verification).
  5. Experience in the semiconductor or microelectronics industry is strongly preferred.
  6. Proven ability to mentor and develop engineering teams in a global, multi-site environment.
  7. Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to present to and influence upper management.
  8. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and rapidly reprioritize based on business needs.
  9. Ability to travel required.

EDUCATION:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials Science).
  2. Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt certification is strongly preferred.
