Roles

  • Lead and investigate process optimization.

  • Build a capacity model by analyzing SAP data from production work centers, material numbers and drawing numbers.

  • Lead and manage project deliverables.

  • Review workplace safety and ergonomics for the facility.

  • Collaborates with teams across various disciplines to implement methods and modifications to reduce production costs and increase production capacity.

  • Collaborates with Business Insights, Sales and Costing on new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with teams across various disciplines to implement methods and modifications to reduce production costs and increase production capacity.

  • Collaborates with teams across various disciplines to implement methods and modifications to reduce production costs and increase production capacity.

  • Eliminate/Minimize production defects and poor quality thru process improvements.

  • Perform GEMBA walks in each production area to identify gaps in the process.

  • Perform the 8 types of waste (DOWNTIME) analysis.

  • Define solutions to process issues and its completion timelines such as hand tools, standard WIP, system transactions, etc.

  • Develop and sustain manufacturing line layout.

  • Collaborates with teams across various disciplines to implement methods and modifications to reduce production costs and increase production capacity.

  • Analyze customer requirements to develop manufacturing process within those parameters such as lead time, head count, takt time, identifying the bottleneck in the process, maximize raw material usage, labor cost, etc.

  • Identify production capacity and machine capabilities for growth opportunities.

  • Apply Lean tools such as 5s, Process Flow Map, Plan Do Check Act, Total Preventive Maintenance, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and Value Stream Map.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Be attentive to details and comfortable with incomplete information.

  • Arrive on time, prepared and willing to learn/participate in new projects.

  • Have a sense of urgency and positive attitude with project deliverables and obstacles.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in all levels of the organization.

  • Thorough understanding of ergonomics and applicable industry standards.

  • Ability to understand manufacturing process flows and production methods.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and computer-aided design (AutoCAD).

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility and access all machinery.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering required

  • Lean Green Six Sigma certification

  • Certificate in AutoCAD desirable

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing plant environment with extreme fluctuation in temperature.

  • Dusty and noisy environment.

  • Exposure to odors and fumes.
