In this role, you’ll lead land development projects from initial planning through design completion, managing client relationships, project teams, and technical execution. Let’s talk.****Keys to Success:*** Manage land development projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and quality control.* Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong, responsive relationships.* Oversee and coordinate the work of engineering teams, subconsultants, and support staff; identify scope creep.* Lead the preparation of site development plans, reports, calculations, and permit applications.* Review and approve technical designs to ensure compliance with applicable codes and client requirements.* Support business development by identifying new opportunities and participating in proposal development.* Facilitate meetings with clients, public agencies, and internal teams to discuss project progress and resolve challenges.* Mentor and develop junior engineers and project team members.* Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain project goals.* Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to deliver innovative solutions.**Minimum Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.* 6+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development projects.* Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.* Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.* Strong knowledge of local development codes, standards, and permitting processes.* Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other industry-related design software.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues, and public agency staff.**Preferred Qualifications:*** 8+ years of progressive project management experience in land development.* Experience working with both public and private sector clients.* Established relationships with local municipalities and reviewing agencies.* Business development experience, including proposal writing and client presentations.* Strong mentoring skills with the ability to lead and develop junior staff.* Experience with project management software tools (such as Microsoft Project, Deltek Ajera, Deltek Vantagepoint or similar).### Why Join MacKay?A people-first culture At MacKay, we put people first. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.*US Pay Range$135,000—$170,000 USDFull-time employees receive a well-rounded benefit package including access to our company-sponsored Medical (including an HSA High Deductible option), Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans. We also offer 100% company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in our company's 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match. Additionally, employees receive paid vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, and are able to participate in employee ownership options.
