Job Description

About the Team: The Process Engineer - Heat Treatment is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining stable and capable production/business processes as they pertain to product/process quality and throughput, and for monitoring and correcting related issues of Assembly/Production Lines.

What you can look forward to as a Process Engineer - Heat Treatment: 

  • Plan, test, and supervise the implementation of preventative actions in the production lines in order to establish and verify capable and stable production processes in terms of safety, quality, delivery, and cost. 
  • Evaluate & approve changes in production processes in cooperation with product engineering & systems support where applicable.
  • Investigate and resolve issues associated with non-conforming parts.
  • Perform and/or coordinate internal quality investigations on production lines (e.g. Process or product/dock audits).
  • Manage 8D investigations or similar corrective action processes derived from product and process audits, from internal quality investigations, or customer complaints.
  • Work closely with Supplier Quality Engineers, Auditors, Design Engineers, Maintenance Employees, Planners, Logistics and Equipment OEM, etc. in order to define corrective actions and investigate for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Establish, maintain, and administer Control Plans, PFMEA's, Process Flow Maps and SWI (Standard Work Instruction).
  • Support engineering projects and assists experienced engineers with engineering analysis.

Your profile as a Process Engineer - Heat Treatment: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 3+ years of experience in Heat Treatment.
  • Strong computer skills - must be proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, SAP and Minitab.
  • Knowledgeable in heat treatment, Mistake Proofing and Problem-Solving Techniques, SPC, and specific software on the production equipment.
  • Experience evaluating metallurgical testing results. 
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D design for the purpose of creating drawings.
  • Knowledge of CQI-9 and IATF 16949.
