The primary purpose of this position is to serve as professional electronics engineer responsible for installation, assembly, integration, and assurance of Electronics Engineering equipment.Qualifications:In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the General Schedule 0885, Electronics Engineering Series.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: A Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

Combination of Education and Experience:
College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. AND
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include experience of Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) and Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) as it relates to warfighting. Extensive understanding of NAVWAR Electronic Attack, Electronic Support & Electronic Protection as it applies to warfighting. Extensive understanding of electronics engineering as it relates to test ranges, test platforms, simulator facilities, and various hardware, hardware-in-the loop, and software modeling and simulation facilities and capabilities as they apply to developing NAVWAR solutions for the Warfighter. Substantial experience of JNWC programs and activities; NAVWAR missions, policies, and objectives; management principles and processes; engineering tools and methods; and techniques for assessing program development to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) and Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) as it relates to warfighting. Extensive understanding of NAVWAR Electronic Attack, Electronic Support & Electronic Protection as it applies to warfighting. Extensive understanding of electronics engineering as it relates to test ranges, test platforms, simulator facilities, and various hardware, hardware-in-the loop, and software modeling and simulation facilities and capabilities as they apply to developing NAVWAR solutions for the Warfighter.
2. Substantial knowledge of JNWC programs and activities; NAVWAR missions, policies, and objectives; management principles and processes; engineering tools and methods; and techniques for assessing program development to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Ability to use and evaluate NAVWAR models and simulation techniques.
3. Skilled in professional engineering and managerial knowledge to solve novel or obscure problems to develop and maintain responsive NAVWAR methods and techniques, and to develop new approaches in solving a wide variety of NAVWAR problems.
4. Ability to lead study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints; to negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relations; skill to negotiate and/or defend findings and program support concepts.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; to recognize and use correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; to communicate information in writing in a succinct and organized manner; and produce written information, including technical material, which is appropriate for the intended audience.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
