Join Our Team as a Process Design Engineer II - Drive Innovation in Upstream Oil & Gas Process Design and Optimization!
Are you passionate about shaping efficient and safe process systems within the chemical and petroleum refining industries? We are seeking a motivated and experienced Process Engineer II to lead and support critical design and optimization projects that make a real impact. In this dynamic role, you'll collaborate with talented teams to develop process specifications, oversee technical deliverables, and contribute to groundbreaking projects that enhance safety, efficiency, and performance.
What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field
  • Proven experience in petroleum refining or chemical process industries
  • Capital project development expertise
  • Ability to lead and monitor junior engineers in developing process design specifications, including heat & material balances, flow plans, equipment design, hydraulic and utility balances, process control & instrumentation, and materials selection
  • Experience in conducting or leading process optimization studies to evaluate cost savings and process improvements
  • Technical oversight experience during front end engineering and detailed engineering phases, ensuring alignment with company standards and project requirements
  • Familiarity with hazard and operability reviews for new and existing facilities
  • Experience providing commissioning and start-up support for new or modified process facilities
  • Strong leadership skills to establish organizational and staffing processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage heavy workloads, and adapt to changing priorities

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and monitor junior engineers in developing process design specifications, including heat & material balances, flow plans, process equipment design, hydraulic and utility balances, process control & instrumentation, and materials selection
  • Develop and oversee process optimization studies aimed at identifying capital and operational cost savings, process configuration improvements, and safety facility requirements
  • Provide technical oversight during front end engineering, detailed engineering, and design phases to ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, and client requirements
  • Participate in Hazard & Operability Reviews for new or modified facilities, supporting safe operation and compliance
  • Assist with commissioning and startup activities for new or modified process facilities to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe transitions
  • Establish organizational and staffing strategies for process engineering teams to optimize project execution

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Experience with safety facilities requirements and process simulation tools
  • Knowledge of utility and hydraulic balance calculations
  • Familiarity with project management processes within engineering environments

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in process engineering for refining or chemical industries, including involvement in capital projects
