Job description

Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Senior Process Engineer to review existing relief valve (PSV) calculations, identify potential concerns and provide mitigation packages for identified items.
The responsibilities of the Process Engineer include designing and recognizing patterns, collecting plant data, implementing methodologies, and providing mitigation packages to field engineers for project execution.
Ultimately, the role is to review existing designs to confirm PSVs are adequately sized and provide recommendations, if applicable.
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate existing facilities' PSVs for relieving capacities.
  • Identify applicable PSV case studies per applicable codes.
  • Communicate with internal operation teams and 3rd-party vendors to gather required information for PSV calculations.
  • Create process simulations and conduct risk assessments.
  • Perform process analysis and provide mitigation packages for project execution team.
  • Document all created processes and update and maintain these documents as changes occur.
  • Occasional travel to the plant may be required to collect plant data. Contractor must have Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a hard hat, safety boots, fire retardant clothing, and safety glasses. Contractor's personal vehicle will be used for travel, with mileage reimbursed.
    Skills Required / Qualifications:
    Experience with process simulation software (Honeywell UniSim, HYSYS, Promax, etc.).
  • Three or more years of technical experience with PSV calculations or working within a chemical plant.
  • Experience in coordinating with internal teams and vendors in a technical environment.
  • Proven success in a corporate setting, working with all levels of management.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Required - Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Required - Familiarity with API 520, API 521
  • Preferred - Familiarity with API 2000, API 2510
