Our team at TheRecruiting Pros is conducting a search for a Process Development Engineer for a high-tech manufacturer whose technologies and servicesare used from design through production in industries including healthcare, automotive,aerospace and durable goods. In this role you will be responsible fordefining and designing new processes as well as improving efficiency andquality of existing processes. You will leverage Six Sigma training tointegrate technical knowledge with operations management in this Leanmanufacturing environment. Engineering experience in chemicals, food and/orpharmaceuticals is a BIG PLUS! This position involves travel about 10% of thetime.

Routine responsibilities will require you to:
  • Maintain the efficiencyand effectiveness of all production related manufacturing equipment andprocesses
  • Observe and improvecurrent procedures and equipment to recommend improvements and/or modifications to management
  • Collaborate withoperations and materials development teams regarding manufacturing processes
  • Design processes formixing and packaging liquid /solid chemicals
  • Design new equipment specificationsfor chemical manufacturing equipment and design plant layout
  • Assist with modificationsand installation of laboratory equipment
  • Communicate with variouslevels of internal and external customers with professionalism and clarity
  • Evaluate quotes andinterface with contractors in coordinating equipment selections
  • Institute qualitymetrics to monitor manufacturing processes
  • Build a maintenanceprogram to maintain, repair and optimize production equipment efficiently
  • Train personnel inequipment function and proper use
  • Monitor and supportoperations to insure environmental health and safety regulations are met in acost effect manor
  • Exercise strategicthinking and problem solving
Required Experience:
  • B.S. degree inindustrial, manufacturing, mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering(required)
  • 3 to 5 years experiencein continuous flow manufacturing of liquid or powder materials
  • Six Sigma Certificationpreferred
  • Exposure to compatiblemanufacturing environment (such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, foods)
  • Capacity to balancemultiple priorities and processes regarding schedules, personnel, materials andproduct quality measures
  • Demonstrable knowledgeof Lean manufacturing, automation and quality management systems
  • Well organized,self-disciplined / motivated
  • Strategicplanning/thinking skills coupled with analytical and execution skills; logicaland organized
  • Proficient in MS Office:PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
