About the Position
We are searching for a Fire Protection Engineering Intern/Co-Op to join our Professional Design team. This internship offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects for clients in industries such as industrial, Department of Defense, and commercial sectors. As an Intern/Co-Op, you will work directly with fire protection engineers, supporting various project tasks and gaining valuable hands-on experience. Your role will primarily involve learning about fire protection building systems through the BIM software Revit and AutoCAD. These tools will allow you to visualize building designs in three dimensions and understand how each component of a building interacts with the others. You will also assist fire protection engineers with other tasks related to ongoing projects. If you're eager to jump-start your career in engineering and gain real-world experience from concept planning through construction documentation, this internship is a great fit.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Engineering student at an ABET-accredited university, on track for a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering
  • Completed 2+ years of coursework
  • Creative, adaptive, and flexible with a strong interest in Fire Protection Design
  • A basic understanding of engineering principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit is highly preferred
  • Prior internship or related experience is highly considered
