JOB SUMMARY:

The Utah Mammoth are looking for a Motion Design Intern with a passion for sports and kinetic type to join their creative team. As a part of the motion team, you'll be creating graphics for all touch points of the brand, including in-arena game presentation, broadcast, social, and more. You will be collaborating with other members of the creative team to concept, design, and execute graphics for events and general use throughout the season and off-season. This paid internship will start in August and finish at the end of the NHL regular season (with the potential to continue into the playoffs). Maximum of 30 hours per week.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Concept and execute motion elements for use across the brand.
  • Propose ideas and iterate based on feedback.
  • Execute deliverables for different uses based on given creative direction.
  • Manage your projects through to delivery.
  • Engage with the creative team to share and research new ideas.
  • Identify gaps in current assets and suggest alternatives.
  • Keep up to date on current trends and relevant technical innovations.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented and able to execute under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to take feedback, iterate on, and work well with others.
  • Knowledge of the NHL is preferred but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in design or related field is preferred.
  • A body of work that showcases motion and design skills.
  • Knowledge of After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro is required.
  • Familiarity with Expressions within After Effects is preferred.
  • Experience with Cinema4D, Blender, and/or Houdini is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of layout, hierarchy, typography, and design.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
