Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Civil/Site Engineering Intern to join our Clinton, NJ office for Summer 2027!
As a Summer 2027 Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience working on projects that shape communities-from large solar designs and residential developments to small urban spaces in downtown districts. Our professionals are here to guide you through the full development process, giving you exposure to proven strategies, regulatory navigation, and the advantage of our in-house multi-disciplinary services. As an Intern with our team, you'll be working on real client projects to develop site plans, grading layouts and utility systems using AutoCAD Civil3D; assisting with the due diligence, permitting, and compliance process; and have the opportunity to perform inspections on-site for residential, commercial, and mixed-use sites.

Responsibilities
  • Our interns will assist technical staff on day-to-day projects and experience the day-to-day operations of a multi-disciplinary firm.
  • Learn the stages of the Land Development process and participate in our Land Development Accelerator Program.
  • Enhance your technical skills with hands-on experience using AutoCAD Civil3D to design:
    • Grading Plans
    • Concept Plans
    • Stormwater Management Plans
    • Utility System Plans
    • Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plans
  • Research zoning ordinances, environmental regulations, and local municipal codes.
  • CED internships are unique in that they are work-centered, meaning you are working on real, billable client work right away.
  • In addition to the work-centered program, we also offer robust internship programming, which includes opportunities to work with other interns, learn about other areas of the business, and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections.

Qualifications
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hydrology or Hydraulics coursework or previous experience preferred.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Civil3D experience preferred.
  • HydroCAD experience a plus.
  • Specific interest in Land Development and/or Stormwater.
  • Be highly motivated, able to work in a fast paced environment, and have great communication skills.
  • Students with some prior internship experience are preferred, but any candidates who apply will be reviewed and considered for different roles.
  • All applicants should be eligible to work in the US and attend a university or college physically located in the United States.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $20.00 to $30.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)
