Job description

Overview:

Control Room Operator Intermediate plays a vital role in monitoring the gas compressor and fleet operations, and in ensuring their smooth functioning. Responsible for continuously monitoring performance indicators, operating parameters, and the overall status of gas compressors at various locations. The primary focus will be to promptly identify anomalies and potential issues and report them to field personnel for resolution.  

Skills and Abilities:  

Ability to:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation principles.
  • Proven experience in a control room operator role or natural gas compressor field experience.
  • Familiarity with gas compression systems and equipment is desirable.
  • Ability to interpret basic data and detect anomalies.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and field personnel
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to prevent operational disruptions.

Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of work orders.
  • Operates and monitors complex control systems independently
  • Responds to critical alarms
  • Diagnoses operational issues
  • Implements corrective actions.

Minimum Education and Certification:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a control room operator role or natural gas compressor field experience.

Leadership:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less-experienced operators to foster their development and improve the team's capabilities.  
  • Works with little direct supervision and makes independent decisions during routine operations.
  • Coordinates with Field personnel.  

Continuous Improvement and Innovations:

  • Propose and implement process improvements based on data analysis and insights
