Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Ensure that all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules, and regulations are followed and met.
  • Compile and distribute work packages, including budget and schedule information. Open work order numbers for production charging.
  • Release material needed for a work activity using an ERP system (SAP).
  • Implement charge orders, design change notices, and other rework activities. Create detailed schedule activity, and work order number, and establish a budget.
  • Assist in the creation of work activities according to the building method, work breakdown structure, and design work packages.
  • Develop production hours’ estimates for work activities on first-of-class ships. Refine budgets for the following ships based on actuals used.
  • Participate in “Prep Team” cross-functional meetings. Review production designs for new ship projects. Provide feedback on installation timing, discipline method, or team.
  • Participate and provide input to build a method planning process. Interface with Engineering and Production teams to determine the best method for installation of all parts and equipment in assigned systems or areas.
  • Provide estimates of production hours for vessel options and change orders.
  • Prepare turnover packages for the next Production Department, documenting work not performed.
  • Tracking Pick request via Excel.
  • Along will material late report via Excel.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPEREIENCE
  • A bachelor's degree is required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in shipbuilding, construction, or manufacturing
  • Basic computer skills, proficiency with MS Office
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP (preferred), Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Exposure to scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Experience with ships’ outfitting and machinery equipment is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience concerning modern shipbuilding practices is a plus
  • Experience with 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D CAD software (viewing only) a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Environmental exposures are similar to those in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes, and smoke. Work may be carried out indoors or outdoors, with exposure to inclement weather.
