ATI is seeking to hire a Process Engineer to support our Specialty Rolled Products coil mill facility in Vandergrift, PA.

ATI is a global manufacturer of technically advanced specialty materials and complex components. Our products support diverse markets and industries such as aerospace and defense, oil & gas, electrical energy, medical, automotive, and other industrial markets.

In this position you will be responsible for process development and improvement, and quality cost control. You will have daily interaction with production workers, operations supervision, and other technical personnel throughout the company is expected. You will interface with internal customers and suppliers on quality related issues. Adhere to Quality Management Systems including product quality, calibration records, and training documentation. This position is in our technical band and reports directly to theManager, Technology (Process Engineering).

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for process development and improvement.
  • Responsible for process troubleshooting and resolving quality-related issues.
  • Responsible for quality cost control.
  • Responsible to effectively interact with all other employees including management.
  • Responsible for material assessment and disposition of non-conforming product requiring knowledge of customer requirements, delivery schedules, costs, material characteristics and equipment capabilities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with project development, implementation and management
  • Experience with process analysis, conducting controlled experiments and the ability to summarize data is also a requirement
  • Candidates must also have strong teamwork, leadership, communication, and organization skills
  • Qualified candidates must have problem solving skills, and the ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Fundamental Personal Computer skills are required with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages
  • Knowledge of mill product production
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills required in dealing with both internal and external customers
  • Highly technically competent, persuasive and organized
  • Provide off-turn support including evenings and weekends as needed
