Job Summary:

An Assembly Process Engineer is responsible to ensure that assembly equipment, tools, and systems are functioning efficiently, producing high-quality parts while minimizing waste and downtime, managing, and improving the assembly processes of products, particularly in manufacturing or production environments. They play a critical role in ensuring that products are assembled efficiently, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time. The job typically involves a combination of technical design, process improvement, and team coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process Development Optimization:

  • Design, develop, and optimize assembly processes (washing, pressing, leak or other testing, etc.) to improve production efficiency.

  • Use techniques like Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma to optimize production line

  • Establish and document optimal machining and assembly processes for different materials, part geometries, components and production volumes.

2. Equipment Operation:

  • Select appropriate tools, machinery, and automation systems for assembly lines.

  • Oversee the setup, maintenance, and calibration of assembly equipment.

  • Ensure the safe and effective use of tools and machinery.

3. Quality Control and Testing:

  • Monitor machining and assembly quality and address any defects or issues that arise during production.

  • Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure the final product is up to standard.

  • Resolve quality issues by adjusting machine settings or processes and supporting root- cause analysis.

4. Troubleshooting:

  • Provide technical support to the production team, offering solutions to improve uptime.

5. Training; Mentorship:

  • Train Assembly operators and other team members on new machining techniques, tooling, and assembly process improvements.
