Responsibilities
  • Interface in professional manner with client representatives and subcontractors.
  • Review designs and provide feedback to designers.
  • Manage in-depth technical reviews of submittals against design documents and manage submittal review and approval status through use of submittal register.
  • Implement the requirements of approved QC Plan, assuring all required records are generated and managed.
  • Identify deficiencies and non-conformances, prepare documentation, and monitor and verify corrective actions.
  • Stop work if necessary to resolve non-compliant work or matters that negatively affect safety.
  • Coordinate and document commissioning and formal completion inspections.
  • Manage a timely project closeout to include compilation and turnover of all required documents.
  • Trains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks.
  • Manages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards.
  • Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members.
  • Aids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports.
  • Collaborates closely with business development to ensure seamless integration with sales strategies including performance metrics on your assigned projects, pursuits, and client deliverables. Actively participates in opportunities to strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships that position Gilbane as the "Builder of Choice".

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
  • BS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management required
  • Minimum 10 years construction experience, 4 as QC Manager
  • USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors training certification preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proactive management approach.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Skilled using Microsoft Word and Excel; USACE QCS a plus
