Job description

Overview
The Industrial Engineering Intern will have the opportunity to immerse themselves within our Madison manufacturing facility. They'll have the opportunity to learn how a manufacturing facility runs while making a meaningful contribution to the plant's operation by contributing to completion of our engineering department's 2026 projects and goals. Our interns can expect to collaborate with industry professionals, expand their network, and gain essential problem solving and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
  • Create and update SOPs/Work Instructions to document standard processes
  • Utilize AutoCad to assist in updating production facility layouts
  • Participate in new product launch activities including line setup/startup, troubleshooting, and process development
  • Perform time and motion studies using ModApts (Training to be provided)
  • Participate in lean and continuous improvement projects while working with multiple departments including production, human resources, and quality
  • Assist our safety department in implementing ergonomic improvements to improve safety within plant
  • Participate in prototype reviews, providing feedback to product engineers on ways to improve manufacturability.
  • Assist in updating PFMEA and control plan documents

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate student pursuing BS in Industrial Engineering
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Interest in continuous improvementa, plant operations, nd waste reduction.
  • Ability to identify problems and formulate solutions.
  • Good communication skills; verbal, written and able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and participate positively within a team environment.
  • Proficiencies in: Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Visio
  • Reliable transporation to our manufacturing facility in Madison, WI
  • Authorization to work in United States required.
