Job description

Role Overview

The Preprocessing Technician oversees the safe and efficient operation of the site feedstock preparation processes. In this role, the team member will monitor key parameters, adjust, and support maintenance of the equipment and processes under their responsibility. Forklift and other mobile equipment are used for the continuous loading and unloading of process streams on a scheduled timeframe throughout this process. Preprocessing Technicians record process observations and other data critical to the operation of the unit’s processes and routinely communicate this information to site supervisory and engineering personnel. This role will report to their respective Operations Supervisor.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Actively participate in all site safety programs and ensure safety is always the top priority.
  • Follow daily work direction via application of training and approved operating procedures.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment. Refer defects or necessary repairs to the supervisor.
  • Actively support housekeeping program for the feedstock preparation workspace.
  • Assist in training other employees to perform the daily work and job function.
  • Regulate or shut down equipment during emergency situations, as directed by leadership.
  • Start and continually monitor and adjust process equipment as necessary to ensure safety, quality, and throughput of the facility.
  • Confer with technical and leadership teams to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Operate machinery that regulates the flow of materials and products.
  • Ensure environmental compliance and reporting for the assigned processes.


Basic Qualifications (Required)

  • High School or GED diploma
  • Ability to utilize and/or wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervision and coworkers.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with leadership, employees, contractors, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to lead and contribute as part of cross-functional teams.
  • Desire to learn, accept new challenges, and willingness to grow and advance within the company
  • Ability to work independently or cooperatively to deliver required results
  • Exhibit initiative to identify and complete tasks necessary to support site operations
  • Ability to, on a non-routine basis, work weekends, holidays and respond to emergency callouts.
  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend/kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and pre-employment physical.
