Schedule for Night Shift 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM rotating days**
JOB SUMMARY
Manufacturing support position with responsibilities focused upon optimizing and maintaining production processes to make quality products and reduce scrap.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Perform start up on all machines.
  • Make process adjustment to fix quality issues.
  • Become familiar with machine / mold adjustments.
  • Work with the Process Engineer to ensure best quality parts.
  • Set up and verify colors / blends. Trouble shoot and correct color problems.
  • Understand our basic materials.
  • Respond to calls from operators regarding product / process questions and concerns.
  • Consistently monitor production quality.
  • Assist Process Engineer in special projects material / color trials
  • Identify needed machine, maintenance, and tooling repairs and initiate appropriate work orders.
  • Participate as needed in internal problem solving/improvement group events.
  • Preform other duties assigned by Supervisors / Management.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of associates.
  • Comply with all Company Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Regular, reliable attendance, timeliness, and some scheduling flexibility

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Must understand quality defect standard for all products. Defects such as short shots, flash, warp and off color.
  • Should be able to program material ABS units.
  • Able to drive a forklift.
  • Must be willing to learn new skills and processes to build capabilities such as JDE, DSI, lean manufacturing and six sigma.
  • Understand basic Excel, Word and Email.
  • Must be able to manage a production facility with minimal supervision and communicate all essential manufacturing information to appropriate personnel.
  • Be able to run a shift in the Supervisors absence.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
  • Certification or training in relevant skills or trade preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years' experience in a relevant field preferred

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
  • Prolong standing or other stationary positions
  • Complete repetitive movements such as typing
  • Ascend/descend stairs and ladders
  • Complete repetitive movements
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision, safety shoes, and hardhat as needed.
  • Bend and/or twist
  • Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Move or traverse about the facilities
  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
  • Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out
  • Work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
