Job description

Machine Build Assistant
Location: Ogden, Utah
Shift: 1st Shift

Position Overview
We are seeking a Machine Build Assistant to support our Machine Builder team with the assembly, quality, and successful execution of equipment builds in Ogden, UT. This is a great entry point into the machine building trade, with training provided on shop equipment and required certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Machine Builder(s) with the assembly of equipment
  • Ensure changes and problems get documented and communicated
  • Carry out assigned tasks with minimum direct supervision
  • Assist Machine Builder(s) with execution of ISO/Quality standards
  • Communicate with Machine Builder(s) on open issues and progress during the build process
  • Assist Machine Builder(s) with successful execution of assigned programs as they relate to cost, quality, timing, and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area
  • Learn to effectively and safely operate: mill, drill press, sanders, saws

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic proficiency reading part and assembly drawings preferred
  • Proven mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality
  • Proven ability to accept direction and complete tasks as assigned, working as part of a team or individually
  • Ability to maintain a steady pace while bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and climbing onto and beneath machines
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required
  • Ability to obtain a Hi-Lo (forklift), aerial platform, and overhead crane license, along with lock out/tag out training, while employed

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification
