About the Role & Program:

The Environmental Sustainability Line of Business is responsible for setting the strategy and leading the planning and development of environmental projects to achieve the Walt Disney Company's (TWDC) environmental goals, which include emissions, water & oceans, waste, materials, and sustainable design.

The Environmental Data and Analytics intern will work with partners across Walt Disney World and global Disney Experiences segment to develop and deliver actionable, data-driven insights that guide successful performance in achieving Disney's environmental goals.

In this role, you will report to the Manager, Data & Analytics.

This internship is a full-time, 6-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from January 2027 through June 2027.

What You Will Do:

The Data Analytics Intern is responsible for data collection and validation, analysis, and reporting that will drive project and area performance for all environmental goal areas.

Responsibilities include data gathering across the Walt Disney World and global Disney Experiences sites, analyses of historic data and forecasting related to emissions, water, waste, and materials initiatives. Data Analytics Intern will assist in the development of measurement methodologies, metrics, and KPIs. They will also assist in the development and maintenance of a variety of reports and dashboards for partners to track operational and project performance toward environmental goals. This role will assist with other Environmental Sustainability teamwork and projects as needed for the team including waste studies, pilots, events, and more.

  • Contribute data-driven thought partnership and ad hoc analysis to segment and enterprise cross functional environmental teams for determining new measurement methodologies, study design, and in-field support to capture new intelligence and assist in the data-driven decision-making process

  • Provides design and continuous improvement of business intelligence and visualizations reporting tools, dashboards and presentations.

  • Manage recurring global Disney Experiences environmental data collection, database entry, validation checks and business intelligence reports for site and segment consolidations

  • Performs segment-wide Disney Experiences detailed environmental data mining, analysis, metric and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) development, dashboard and visualization design, and presentation building

Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, manage regular reporting processes, and provide ad hoc business decision data support

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey data and analysis to partners at all levels

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and ensure alignment of priorities with leaders

  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy and an inquisitiveness to determine explanations, with an ability to consolidate multiple sources of information or analyses into a cohesive story or recommendation

  • Ability to maintain recurring data collection and reporting processes consistently, ensure partners are timely with inputs, and meet deliverable timelines while keeping stakeholders informed of progress

  • Ability to work in a team environment with a positive demeanor, generating creative solutions to complex challenges

  • Experience with database data entry, data validation, and building data definitions, tables and queries using SQL and Power Bi

  • On average 5-20 hours per week doing field work, walking with partners onstage and backstage, performing studies, handling materials in a variety of different weather conditions. Ability to lift to 40 pounds.

  • Candidates must have a valid U.S. Driver's license

Education:
  • Junior or Senior year preferred

  • Major or previous coursework in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Candidates should demonstrate an interest in applying data and analytics to environmental sustainability challenges.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.

  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization.

Additional Information:
  • This internship is a full-time, 6-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from January 2027 through June 2027.

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

  • Fully available Monday through Friday, for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week. Hours may fluctuate based on project needs.

  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, FL area.

  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work with a personal vehicle, including travel to various locations across the Walt Disney World property throughout the day.

  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.
