Job description

Position: Executive VP of Advisor Wealth Experience & Platforms
Department: AE Wealth Management
Reporting to: President of AE Wealth Management
Location: Topeka, KS - Onsite
Overview:
Help shape the future of AE Wealth Management's advisor experience.
As we continue our growth journey toward a $250 billion platform, we are looking for a transformational leader who can bring together advisor insights, business strategy, product capabilities, and technology solutions to create the next evolution of how we support advisors. This is an opportunity to build, influence, and evolve the platforms and experiences that help advisors grow their businesses, serve their clients, and do business with AE Wealth Management more effectively.
At Advisors Excel, we believe everything we do should make it easier for advisors to succeed. Over the past decade, we have built a strong Wealth Management platform to support advisors in achieving their goals. Now, we are focused on what comes next - ensuring our platforms, technology partnerships, and processes are designed around advisor needs and business outcomes.
The right leader for this opportunity understands the wealth management technology landscape, can connect strategy across business and technology teams, and is energized by the challenge of bringing people and resources together to create something better. This leader enjoys building relationships with advisors and is comfortable representing AE Wealth Management through presentations, conferences, and industry events. They will help challenge existing ways of working, build stronger alignment across teams, and shape the future of the advisor experience at AE Wealth Management.
What you'll do:
  • Lead the strategy, evolution, and continuous improvement of AE Wealth Management's advisor-facing platforms and experiences, ensuring solutions are designed around advisor needs, business outcomes, and long-term growth objectives.
  • Partner across the organization to understand advisor workflows, business priorities, operational needs, and technology capabilities to define the experiences AE Wealth Management wants to deliver.
  • Lead and develop teams responsible for platform strategy, product capabilities, and advisor enablement, creating a more connected approach to how AE designs, delivers, and supports advisor experiences.
  • Translate advisor insights and business strategies into platform roadmaps, priorities, workflows, integrations, and enhancements that improve advisor efficiency, adoption, and growth.
  • Establish platform governance, prioritization frameworks, and decision-making processes to ensure resources are focused on the highest-impact opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Product, Technology, Operations, Compliance, Sales, and other business leaders to align capabilities and solutions around advisor outcomes.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with key technology partners, influencing vendor roadmaps and ensuring solutions align with AE's advisor strategy and business objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, platform capabilities, and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation, simplification, and improved advisor experiences.
  • Build strong relationships with advisors, strategic partners, and industry groups to gather insights, communicate platform strategy, and help shape the future direction of AE Wealth Management's advisor experience.
  • Represent AE Wealth Management at conferences, advisor events, and industry forums by delivering engaging presentations, sharing thought leadership, and communicating the firm's vision for the future of advisor technology and experience.
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement while challenging existing ways of working to create better outcomes for advisors and the organization.

Experience you'll bring:
  • 8+ years of experience in wealth management technology, advisor-facing platforms, digital product management, or financial services technology leadership.
  • Experience leading the strategy and evolution of advisor-facing platforms and digital solutions.
  • Strong understanding of advisor workflows and technology capabilities, including areas such as portfolio management, financial planning, CRM, integrations, and digital account experiences.
  • Experience leading and developing teams and partnering with senior leaders across business and technology functions.
  • Strong ability to translate business needs and user insights into platform strategies, roadmaps, and enhancements.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage advisor audiences, influence executive stakeholders, and clearly communicate strategy to technical teams, external partners, and industry peers.
  • Experience presenting to advisors, leading client-facing discussions, or speaking at conferences, industry events, or executive forums.

Bonus Points:
  • Experience working within an RIA, broker-dealer, wealth management firm, or similar financial services organization.
  • Experience serving as a public-facing leader through advisor presentations, conference speaking engagements, industry events, or thought leadership opportunities.
  • Experience leading organizational change, integrating teams, or building new operating models.
  • Familiarity with financial services compliance, security, privacy, and regulatory considerations.

What you'll get:
  • Amazing benefits including medical, dental, vision and 401k (with matching options)
  • Generous PTO package from your start date
  • Access to an on-site café, gym and primary care
  • Continuous personal and professional development opportunities
  • Recognition for hard work & exemplary performance
  • Employee sponsored events...and more!
