Description
The Recruiter/Admissions Advisor is responsible for managing a recruitment territory and actively engaging prospective and admitted students throughout the enrollment process. This role conducts outreach through high school visits, college fairs, and community events, while building relationships with students, families, and school partners. The Recruiter/Admissions Advisor guides students from initial interest through application, completion of admissions requirements, and registration, providing support in areas such as program selection and financial aid processes. This position works collaboratively with the Recruiting Coordinator and campus partners to support enrollment goals and ensure a seamless student experience.
Job Duties
  • Demonstrates IWCC's core mission, vision and values
  • Manage an assigned geographic recruitment territory and/or academic program areas
  • Conduct high school visits, college fairs, and community-based recruitment events
  • Represent the institution at on-site and off-site outreach activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community partners, and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective students through proactive outreach and engagement
  • Maintain an active caseload of prospective and admitted students
  • Guide students and families through the admissions process, including application completion and next steps
  • Support students in completing admissions requirements and navigating enrollment processes
  • Advise students on academic program options and career pathways
  • Provide basic guidance on financial aid processes, including FAFSA completion and next steps
  • Track and manage student engagement and recruitment activity using CRM or student information systems
  • Follow up with prospective and admitted students to support progression through the enrollment funnel
  • Collaborate with the Recruiting Coordinator and enrollment team to support recruitment strategies and goals
  • Partner with campus departments, including campus visits and student onboarding, to ensure a seamless student experience
  • Participate in special recruitment initiatives, events, and targeted outreach campaigns
  • Serve as a team player by supporting departmental needs and assisting in cross-functional efforts as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred in communications, business, education, or a related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage students, families, and community partners
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a commitment to providing a positive and supportive experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to build relationships and connect with diverse populations in a variety of settings
  • Comfortable presenting information to individuals and groups, both in-person and virtually
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team-oriented environment
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and enthusiasm for helping students succeed
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced, student-facing environment
  • Basic understanding of or willingness to learn the college admissions and financial aid process, including FAFSA
  • Experience with CRM systems, student information systems, or similar technology preferred
  • Ability to travel locally/regionally and work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends, to support recruitment activities
  • Ability to pass a background check, have a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Commitment to a student-centered, service-oriented approach

Physical Demands
  • The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
