Job description

Our Rosemount facility is looking to add a Material Hander on our 2nd Shift (3PM - 3AM). ProAmpac is a leading global flexible packaging company with comprehensive product offerings. The safety and health of our team is our top priority. ProAmpac has taken great steps to provide all personal protective equipment and sanitizing supplies to create a safe and healthy work environment for you.

  • Maintain supply of tubes and liners to the Sewing, Inserting, and PBOM bottomers.
  • Remove finished bags from Sewing, Inserting, PVSE and PBOM bottomers.
  • Remove tubes from Tubers.
  • Keep Tubers supplied with empty pallets.
  • Keep print rolls, paper and poly in proper location with core plugs in them.
  • Supply paper, poly and print with regard to trim, basis weight, ml thickness and making sure all butt roles come out first.
  • Assemble boxes for all Closing Department areas.
  • Read production orders in advance.
  • Have the correct boxes and pallets made prior to the production of an order.
  • All return stock must have core plugs, be marked correctly and then put in its proper place on clean pads.
  • Help make picture frames as needed.
  • Conduct 5S (AIB) organizing and cleaning as needed throughout the year.
  • Help bring in poly or paper to the tubing department with the forklift when needed.
  • Work in other areas as instructed by the Supervisor or Lead Person.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Must have good verbal and comprehensive communication skills.
  • Perform outside duties as instructed by the Supervisor or Lead Person.
  • Perform forklift/grab truck battery and propane tank changes as needed.
  • Complete daily safety check form at the beginning of the shift. Grab truck must be checked at the start of each shift for oil, water, hydraulic fluid and general condition.
  • Drive in a safe manner.
  • Perform weekly and yearly inventories.
  • Utilize forklift horn when traveling around corners and blind spots.
  • Drive in reverse when transporting a load that obscures vision.
  • Follow all Plant and Safety Rules.
  • Rotate all stock. Use oldest first – no exceptions.
  • All poly must have cardboard end-protectors
  • All paper, poly and print rolls must be kept damage free and all unwrapped paper and print stock must be placed on clean pads.
  • Keep warehouse and desk area neat, clean, orderly and rotate out dirty pads as needed.
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize the Shoplogix system.
  • Report any damages or problems to the shift supervisor immediately
  • Assist in Training.

Requirements:

  • Ability to bend, twist and kneel.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand continuously for 2 – 3 hours.
  • Ability to perceive colors.
  • Must have manual dexterity.
